Octoberfest Marathon 2010

Posted by domforth On May- 20 - 2010

We did it! In just over 3:45 we completed a grueling 26.2 Marathon in Spring Lake, MI. The conditions were horrendous with torrential downpours delaying the start of the race by over an hour. This rolling hill course was TOUGH. Forthy placed 3rd in Mens 25-29 Age Group. His running partner Bref Mchugh ranked 2nd.

Gasparilla 2010

Posted by domforth On January - 29 - 2010

Land, ho! Hoist the mizzen n set sail for Tampa! Shouts from the legendary pirate Jose Gaspar and his band of marauding buccaneers will ring out across the waters of Hillsborough Bay as they return to invade the City of Tampa. On Saturday, January 30th, at 11:30 a.m., the world's only fully-rigged pirate ship, the Jose Gasparilla, will magically appear at the south end of Hillsborough Bay. A multitude of pleasure crafts, all intent on defending the city, will boldly sail forth to meet the ship. But quickly seeing the error of their ways, they turn to join forces with the Captain and his Krewe’s flotilla. The colorful Gasparilla Flotilla then makes its way into Seddon Channel. The Gasparilla Invasion has begun!

John Forth Tribute

Posted by domforth On August - 05 - 2009

Full tribute to the original Forthy. He was an absolute legend and we will never forget him!! I'm just so grateful to have had such a wonderful brother. Full of so much character and personality – always making me laugh. We were both afforded similar opportunities in life but the one thing I had in life that John didn't, was him as my older brother. And I attribute so,so much of my success to John. He was brilliant. In John I had both sides to the perfect role model - a brother who was able to teach me what to do and the way to live my life … As Thomas Campbell once said.... 'to live in hearts we leave behind. Is not to die.'

Devastated is an understatement. I am truly shocked and saddened at the news that my brother John passed away in his sleep Sunday morning. The preliminary cause of death seems to be "coronary atheroma"... More to follow...

Flyin in with a bang - Forthy and the legendary Frank Sccichitano tore up the streets of 'cisco Saturday Night, catching up wit John '00' -- who injected his blend of hard-edged progressive trance to a rocking 1015 dancefloor with an awesome 6 hour set.

Even DJ Christopher Lawrence stopped by for a taster of the action!!

30th May 2005 - Forthy in San Francisco

What better way to recover from six hours of superb sounds from just 4 hours earlier, than to check out the sights and sounds of San Francisco - check them out...

31st May 2005 - Memorial Day

Sun, sun, sun high into the 90's - it was memorial day 2005 - here's the best of the boats and bikinis -- plus a little furry friend I met on the way to San Luis

Captain Frank Scicchitano

1st June 2005 - Fresno, California

Fresh off the back of a quality day on Lake Nacimento and an even better night in San Luis - it was time to journey onwards to Fresno, California for another awesome night out!

Scandalous!!

2nd June 2005

The rollercoaster kept on rockin' with the arrival of the Wisconsin Wizard, Cory Wahl on Day 5. On a roll from the night before, the lads hit 'Porky's' - home of the infamous "bladder-buster" - where all beers all night are dirt cheap...

...until someone breaks the seal!!

Such is the will not to give in and be the first to go, face ridicule, and cause the prices to go back to full price - larger crowds hang awkwardly outside the restrooms than grind on the dancefloor -- leaving us power drinkers more room to maneuver with the ladies...

Forthy and the Wahlster

Time to kickstart this joint...

Frank Scicchitano set his targets for the evening where he would later succeed...

While Forthy was captured on camera in heaven...

3rd June 2005 - 5th June 2005 - Viva Las Vegas!!

With the request of blogger.com the majority of 'scandalous' material pictures have been removed

What better way to celebrate a trip out West than to hit the legendary Las Vegas for four days!!
Many a story, many a scandal - sadly they have been deemed fit only for a '1998 Cricketers Arms' type audience, and hence the stories cannot be told here.

So sadly, as the saying goes - what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas

Viva Las Vegas!!

Where does he find them? Forthy about to check out the Las Vegas 'post-party' scene...

6th June 2006

Day 9 of the trip saw the roadtrip back from Vegas, followed by some Sushi action, Mohito's before chillin' out to the Longest Yard.

Drinking on the way back from Vegas - Cory can drink and then some - a brewers best friend - the man put away more beer than anyone else during the trip, and then some, and then some more...

On arriving back from Vegas - Cory, Frank and Forthy chill wit some Mohito Coctails

7th June 2005 - Travel & Trouble

Scheduled to fly back to Wisconsin Monday, Cory came in for a shock when the plane he was due to fly out on, first malfunctioned on its way into Fresno and then continued to have problems throughout the day. After being told the problem was fixed and boarding the plane, the entire crew and passengers were removed from the plane -- problems with the breaking mechanism meant the plane wasn't going anywhere! And neither was Cory.

Stuck in Fresno for another day - what else was there to do...? Why go drinking of course!!

And where better than Hooters!!

.. You've Gotta Love Hooters!! These three girls were nothing compared to some of the other girls working, add in some quality buffalo wings, and six Pitchers of beer later between the two of us ...

...a few shots and then these extra beers would send forthy over the edge, ordering a shitload more shots to celebrate the Pistons best-of-seven victory over the Heat, and lead to Cory's classic quote, "There is something serious wrong with that kid's head!"

Reviewing video of some of the incidents that followed - I fear there clearly might be!!

8th June 2005 - Shots From the Seventh Depth of Hell...

Well after the show that was domforth last night...

(Can't remember a lot of it - apparently I bit Frank's roomate on the arm - the 2nd person I've apparently bitten this vacation?!?! -- if you can't remember it though - it didnt happen, right? teethmarks or no teethmarks!)

...but anyway took it very very easy (and low key) today - chilling out all day.

Once night-time came though, forthy was back in action...

This time with five sexy, sexy girls!! And all thanks to the main man Frank Scicchitano (taking the photo) - who got us the invite! Sake Bombs were aplomb, and things were going so well...

.. until the birthday shot for the birthday girl was refused, and then returned - passed from person to person, no-one would, or even wanted to drink it. But one englishman begged to differ, and bodly stepping up...

...forthy swallowed everything in the glass - we're talking everything folks! And while the actual drink wasn't that bad - the baby octupus and other shit going down was... undescribable - lets leave the description at that! [Bork]

However, the night didn't turn out too bad at all! As forthy himself would agree...

9th June 2005 - Frank and Forthy's Final Night in Fresno

Frank and Forthy's Final night in Fresno was not going to be a tame affair - after months of trying forthy, almost perfected the alaskan oil slick. Shots of sambuca, jager, and straight gin (fuck knows why forthy orders it as a shot!?!?) were also in abundance - and the night finaled with some quality hot-tub action, or not, as the big bad security man rained down the party! Bastard - jus when things were getting interesting!!

As Erikka Haa, author of 'Shots: The Dimitive Guide to a Little Big Drink' writes, "this shot may resemble something of an oil spill over the deep blue sea - and it's icy cold bite could make you wonder why you ever worried about going down with the ship."

Forthy writes - just drink the bloody thing!!

10th June 2005 - Back to San Francisco

Triumphant from their travels - travels that had taken them from the Coast of California, across Lake Nacimento, into the heart of the mountains, onward through the desolate Nevada desert, and back again. Frank and Forthy decided on one final fling - a two day bender in San Francisco.

Throwing all caution to the winds, and fighting bitterly against their own body's pains and pleas to stop all this drinking, eat some vegetables and fruit, raid GMC for vitamins, and sleep for five days straight, the lads continued...

Check San Francisco baby!!

Just 1 Mile Away! The Hunt for Treasure Island begins...

Straight Gin: Forthy finally went one shot too far..

While another waitress wasn't taking too kindly to Franks charm...

What better way from overdoing the gin? Why more gin of course!! Forthy bounced back in style. "She told me she loved me, like fireworks..." (could have been the drugs though...)

While Frank too also found some comfort from his earlier actions..

As for the second night: Warning: staying in San Francisco for too long will make you walk like this...

However, the night continued where the last left off - with Forthy hittin 'the post pary scene' in San Francisco Baby!!

All in all a quality, quality trip!!

BACK IN THE UK
-- 22-06-05 --

23rd June 2005

Forthy got asked where he was going.

England seems inseperable and unfortnuately synonymous with London, so he answered snatch style, finally responding,

"Yes, London. You know: fish, chips, cup 'o tea, bad food, worse weather, Mary fucking Poppins... LONDON. "

It might as well have read Liverpool.

Well, but for one exception, Mary Poppins wasn't gorgeous - Liverpool women are!

Pickin up the pace, Ligget and Mahood sample some Gin delights...

Arriving in the Arriba, Bingstar and Forthy reunine with some quality birdage - check out Forthy's smile..

And then, Forthy met these two fitties - "You're gonna tell your mates you copped off with both of us aren't you?" they said "It's okay, you can if you want!"

Don't flatter yourselves girls...

Looks like Forthy might have to wait till the weekend until his Mary Poppins theory rings true...

28th June 2005 - Partyin in Prestonia

Reuniting the Forth-Falenta partnership, the lads hit Preston to celebrate Kellys' birthday at midnight in Preston's newest nightspot.

Onward rolls another night of drunken debauchery...

29th June 2005 - Richy's 50th Birthday Bash

Richy's 50th birthday was filled with hilarity - not so much the meal, but more the antics of Rob Ligget, who after being thrown off the Arriba bus later in the evening, was suddenly spotted 20 minutes later flying past and giving everyone on the bus, including bouncers the V's!! All while hanging precariously out of the taxi! Well funny!!

Happy Birthday Richy!!

Warning: Do Not Snap Ingram's Ciggies - It makes the little man angry..

... Unless you buy him some shots after!!

And where would any night out be without Forthy finding a fittie

Sadly there were no photos of the infamous Ligget taxi V's incident.. Although here's a mugshot from earlier in the evening...

30th June 2005 - Thursday Night in Ormskirk..

Nice!!

The Arriba's new 'more for your money' policy didn't necessarily mean beer

1st July 2005

Another Friday, another weekend begins - as do more drunken antics!!

This is how it started..

The first shots, and ultimately, the beginning of the end...

A few rounds, Aftershock, JD, Gin, not to mention a few more beers...

By 6pm.. this was Jay..

Forthy battled on though...

Later meeting Danny Horsley in The Arriba

This photo was Danny before starting partying with Forthy...

And this...

Is After!!

Poor Danny!!

Still, a quality night thanks to everyone involved!!

Particularly this man who provided the venue for a quality post party!!

3rd July 2005 - Oasis: Live in Manchester

5th July 2005 - Back to Prestonia...

What would be Forthy's last night out in Preston before returning to the hallowed land of the stars and stripes didnt disappoint. Long term legendary manager of Hush Bar, Will Green, celebrated his 30th Birthday in the way the Irishman knows best - getting leathered!!
Shots of sambuca, gin, and Jager - a rarity on the british shores, led to the following drunken debauchery...

Birthday boy Will, with apprentice, and manager-in-the-making, Wojiciech Falenta, catch up in Hush

Gotta love that Gin!! Mikey boy warms up with a shot of plymouth.

But who needs Gin... when you have Jager!!

And continuing with more shots... who needs jager when you have sambuca and a match! Time to blow the bar up...

.... But first... Sambuca requires safety... note the protective clothing - ie. how NOT to look hard

With the night gainiing momentum, and once forthy gets a few shots down him, the emphasis of the night starts to shift emphasis ...

Here Forthy gets clocked in action... check out the view from the back

...and the front.. How does he do it? ;)

Another storming night out!

The once small town of Preston, and now thriving city, shall be missed by domforth - had so many quality nights out over the years there, and this night didnt disappoint. On behalf of domforth, everyone associated with the site would like to wish Will and all the regulars of Hush, Revolution and Base Bar the very very best for the future! Keep in Touch!!

7th July 2005 - London Under Attack

It is such a tragedy that after yesterday's joyous scenes, such devestation could sweep through the capital so quickly. However, despite such tragedy, people have already set about determinedly continuing life as normal - reinforcing the defiant attitudes of surviving victims in the attacks. Just yesterday, domforth booked a ticket to travel to London tomorrow, and is grateful that 24 hours time difference prevented him from being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Our prayers are with the victims and their families this evening.

8th July 2005 - Forthy does London

After the tragic events just 24 hours earlier, domforth continued the defiant mentality that Londoners are so proudly exonerating, battling back against the brutal, and pointless, attacks of Thursday in the best way possible - by not letting any of the extreme ideologies have a single effect on attitude, action, routine, dreams, or aspirations.

This was the weekend, and while Friday night was a solemn affair, a positive momentum gathered. With maximum respect to victims involved, it would have been wrong to have given in by staying in.

Optimistically, had one not heard or seen what had happened, one may not have known by Saturday - as the bustling city centre continued life true to life before the attacks (with people out to party, not in disrespect, but more in defiance) the only surface clue being the intermittent half mast flag.

We will never forgot the unfortunate victims of such a terrible and pointless act, and we will honour them by never giving in to their attackers or their beliefs.

Sunday 10th July 2005

...Having just arrived back in Ormskirk, Lancashire, and in continuance with the sites policy here is a selection of photos from forthy's weekend in London

Travelling on the tube with the lovely Jennys and Rachel

Forthy with original partner in crime Jenny King

The bus ride home can often become more entertaining than the night itself. These three guys hailed from middle Poland. With domforth's multi-linguistic-and-cultural awareness, Forthy soon started the long path to becoming closer than ever in fluency in Polish.
"Cześć," they taught first, and then continued with what sounded like "Yatsi Vudka - Shamalaski finen titski?"
"Darar.. Możność, Dak"

Sincerest apologies for butchering the Polish language with my spelling, but the translation?

"Hello! I drink vodka... Can you help me find the nearest Tittie-bar?"

"Goodbye, Power (to the People) Man"

The lads stated: "Polish.. it gets you girls!"

Did it work for Forthy thou...?

Result!!

10th July 2005 - The City of Liverpool

The European Capital of Culture 2008, and to the dismay of the blue half of the city, Champions of Europe 2005. Here's a selection of photos of Liverpool, England, taken earlier today by domforth

"This last one is my favourite, as I tried to capture a shadowed helping hand reaching out to the half-mast flag of St. George - symbolising an offering to the country in it's time of need.." --yeah whatever Dom!!

11th July 2005 - Drinking with Lora Heyes in Leeds...

A night out in the city of Leeds is no easy feat with the lovely Lora Heyes. This petite-sized princess may look like little of a match, but the gal knows how to drink, and then some!

Starting swiftly with a selection of Amstel and Jager, not forgetting to mention the shitload of Stella before even leaving the front-door, Forthy wondered whether he had finally met his match...

But Forthy's ability to bounce back is legendary, and while the Heyester might have been content downing pints, forthy moved up a gear to a stronger and more sizeable beverage - while still of course staying true to his roots - (note the multitude of shots... at bottom of picture!)

Many a man has fallen afoul of forthy's "power-shot rounds," (just ask Dominic Flemming or James Ingram about Gin in Sharrocks Hill; or witness Rob Ligget and Richie Mahood's reaction in Disraeli's!!)

But, the Heyes was unfazed, ordering more Jager, and then more beer - and in reality there are no winners or losers in drinking to the death- just people who end up absolutely wankered and, like this night in Leeds, have a stormer of a time...

More pics to follow...

11th July 2005 - More Pics From Leeds...

Being in such a diverse city as Leeds, the following pictures highlight how the city brought out a diversification in domforth's demeana.

Top: Forthy's a charmer with young and old - it's just a shame that these Leeds lasses aren't hot!

Bottom Left: The end-result of the above and aforementioned drinking

Bottom Right: Do Not Fuck With Us!! domforth does Fight Club Tyler Durden Style

12th July 2005 - (The Grand Old Duke of) York

Following on from Leeds... more scenic action, this time from York. It was such a beautiful day and domforth was gutted he couldn't sit off all day in one of the many scenic beer gardens, getting bladdered in the rare British sunshine...

Instead he had to head home via Manchester to prepare for a flight back to the US on Thursday.

So instead of having a nice refreshing pint, domforth ended up on a sweltering bus, filled with middle-age women - all being annoying the way middle-age are - and all dead excited and giddy after being on a gardening roadshow.

This horrendous trip lasted for over two hours!! Gutted!!
